We collaborate with academic institutions like Mbarara University of Science and Technology, healthcare providers like Ministry of Health, National Drug Authority and Makerere Lung Institute, and government agencies like Science, Technology and Innovations- Office of the President to drive innovation and increase access to safe herbal medicines. Internationally, we have established a strategic partnership with Nawah Scientific, an Egyptian based Scientific Institution majoring pharmaceutical drug development.
The Masindi project represents a landmark investment in Uganda’s agro-industrialization journey. Situated on land allocated by the Uganda Investment Authority, the 960-acre farm has been strategically designed to serve as a nucleus hub for horticultural and medicinal plant production, integrated with livestock systems to ensure organic nutrient recycling. The project further seeks to engage surrounding communities through structured out-grower schemes, thereby positioning itself as both a production centre and a catalyst for rural transformation. The farm operates on a semi-zero grazing model, integrating cattle production with crop cultivation under irrigation. This integrated system enhances productivity, reduces external input dependency, and ensures sustainable organic farming. Greenhouses have been established for seedling propagation and medicinal plant multiplication, with planting materials sourced from reputable institutions and community-based nurseries. Priority crops include citrus, aloe vera, cactus, and Prunus africana among other medicinal species of high commercial and pharmaceutical value. This model directly aligns with Uganda’s Agro-Industrialization Programme under NDP IV, which emphasizes increased commercialization of agriculture, promotion of agro-processing, and enhancement of exports. Furthermore, the project operationalizes the Parish Development Model’s pillar on production and value addition, demonstrating practical pathways through which smallholder farmers can be integrated into high-value agricultural enterprises
